Fireplace, Pellet Supply Businesses Busy as Weather Gets Cooler
The cooler weather means busier days at local fireplace and pellet supply shops.
The staff at Glowing Embers Fireplace Gallery on Wattsburg Rd. said they have already been receiving calls for chimney checks and repairs.
They told Erie News Now their fireplace and chimney repair crews are already booking into November and said if you need a repair, the time to call is now.
They are also stocking up on wood pellets and said prices right now are about the same as last year - $270 per ton.
"We get extremely busy this time of year from people who start to turn their stuff on from last year, realize its dirty or broke," said Maria Guriel at Glowing Embers Fireplace Gallery. "We have a lot of service calls. We do deliver pellets, so we've been busy with that, as well."
There's also a tax incentive program if you are thinking of installing a new wood or pellet stove.
Qualified products receive a 26 percent credit for purchase and installation costs until the end of the year.
